IAT with a cone filter?
I'm installing a '93 LT1/M6 powertrain into a 1972 Vega GT. I want to run a cone filter on the front of the throttle body. Where should I relocate the IAT to?
Thanks,
Colin

Resistoring the IAT is very stupid on a Speed Density system. I'm not interested in a hack job. I've spent over $4000 on my powertrain and accessories. I have cut the floor out of my car and spent dozens of hours sandblasting and painting the underhood area.
I am not going to ruin it all with a 25 cent resistor. Anyone else have solid advice?
Thanks,
Colin

I will be the first to say that post was a bit harsh.
I have read over and over on here how stupid that mod is so I pretty much figured he'd also read posts regarding that. So to mourningyou, I apologize.
Anyone have any advice?

Colin

That is the cone for 90-92 Tune Port setups. I don't think that will clear the water pump. I tried it on mine and I am pretty sure it hit the water neck. Have you looked on street & performance web site( www.hotrodlane.cc )? They have a short filter for speed density setups with a place for the IAT.

I had a cone filter on my Callaway Honker. I found a rubber grommet that would fit snuggly over the IAT sensor, and drilled a hole in the center of the metal cap on the end of the filter to mount it.
As noted above..... IAT is a critical part of figuring the "density" portion of speed-density. Not good to delete it.
