Ignition coil relocation problems?

I have 94 z and added a supercharger. I moved the coil to a new spot as instructed. Does the coil need to be grounded? I have it on a painted bracket that came with the kit that appears to keep it from a bare metal surface. Did the coil just use the heads as a ground?

Re: Ignition coil relocation problems?

I think it would be a good thing for the coil bracket to be grounded. It was grounded through the head in stock form.

Grind down the mounting spots on the metal so that the coil can ground. Im not sure but i dont even know if the car will start with out the coil being grounded. where did you pot the wires that ground to the coil stud on the drivers side?

I left the stud there with the other ground wires attached. My car is making a lot less power than it is capable off. Can this be part of the problem? 94 z supercharged going 0-60 in 6 1/2 seconds! Almost all upgraded bolt ons.

Make a sig with the car and the majior boltons. You could have a boost leak or a number of other things causing the low power but you cant judge that on the 0-60 mph times. that has alot to do with road conditions, driver ability, and a number of other things such as air temp, altitude, tire tred condition, and alot more.
