Your number of posts doesn't mean you don't understand how an engine works.

It's the content of your posts that tells us you don't understand how an engine works.

so how about 450 hp

check this build out....http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...63183104...and if built with forged internals have ability to bolt on nos or forced induction at later date..and if this isnt a bad buy than what about cam selection ? is his horsepower rating legit? are these quality parts? can i just buy these parts and build my self w/ the help of a local machine shop and save even more? would you run stock opti on this and what headers? what about bigger injectors ? sorry for being across the board and thanks for all feed back

Methinks that someone suffers from high self-esteem.

Is it that impossible that someone figured out how to pull just alittle more out of the right parts to pull off just alittle more power. LE claims his LE3 kit to make about 410rwhp with a full bolt on M6 stock 10-bolt. I've seen EWP gain another 20-25 rwhp .. an lt4 intake does help, the intake runners are the big flaw with the LT1 intake, the LT4 intake helps to correct that and when we are talking almost 500Fwhp an intake can make 10-20 hp difference.. hey look at that, there is 450rwhp and thats with just 2 things different then the "norm" ..
Ok whats his car trap at at the track with 460rwhp. You can make a dyno read whatever you want. Save the dyno racing for supras. And I agree with Javier, its not possbile to get 460rwhp out of a 305 and unported AFR heads, unless you go to a dyno that belongs in the gay pride parade for being so happy....

And...yes---lighter weight can increase performance (or help actualize the available power). A good example would be to reduce the size of ones head.

I'm just sayin'.

He runs 12.02 @ 116mph launching at 3Krpms w/ slicks.

I could honestly care less what 99.99% of the people on this board think or say, i'm just hear to help get through all the "limits" all you think there are.

The .01% i listen to most of you could name without thinking twice.

Now i see exactly why people don't bother with these boards.. its sad really..

116 mph does not equal 460 rwhp, once again.. sorry.

You don't like reading these boards because reality is a bitch.

Thats not even close to 460rwhp, hes at 360-380 tops. Looks like he dyno'd on an extreemly high reading dyno. People don't like coming on these boards because they want to beleive whats not true, like your friend thinking he really has 460rwhp. Hell I'm trapping 118 and I'm was at 380-385rwhp tops.

you can just buy the parts and take it to a local machine shop.i think you could save some money by buying a pre-assembled block..check these out http://victoryracingengines.com/engi...TX&BLOCK=SHORT
.its fine do run stock opti in my own opinon.headers most ppl have the pacesetter longtubes..but some prefer Kook LT'S.As far as injectors its seems like 42lb hr injectors are the popular injector to use N/A.Check out the 383 short blocks on that site!

I second the VRE shortblock. They know what they are talking about and have tons of history with lt1s!

I trap 114 on the stock heads and lower end with about 350 rwhp, a 116 trap can be easily done with under 400 rwhp

I don't see why its that impossible.. as long as you got a dead on tune...

The day he pulled the 460rwhp he spent about 3 hours on the dyno tuning an already dyno tuned pcm.

Those AFRs flow between LE2 and LE3 heads, he's got more SCR. O, and he has the true LT4 intake.
The original post was about an auto with a high stall converter. A simple heads/cam LT1 is not going to make 600hp (or more), which is what you need to see 500rwhp through an auto with a high stall converter.

What the hell does that have to do with anything? According to you I should be making 480+rwhp if I'm trapping 118. When I was running the crane 227 cam I put down 352rwhp and I went 12.4@115. Like I said there is no way in hell you friend is even close to 400rwhp, let alone 460rwhp. If you don't want to believe that keep living in la la land.
