I'm getting code 43.
It said something like knock sensor or module is bad or something. I don't quite remember. I will go again in a few minutes to scan it.
Anyhow, I've been getting a SES light for about a month now and my gas mileage has dropped drastically. I noticed when I drive it on the highway, the light doesn't come on as much. anyhow, how do I get to the knock sensor? I assume it fell off or broke.

Re: Diagnostic Trouble Codes.....code 43
Suggestion... use Shoebox's code list. It is specific to the LT1 and will save you grief.
DTC 43 is a problem with the knock sensor circuit. Either a faulty sensor or faulty wiring. Easy to check... you verify +5V with the key on, between the single pin on the disconnected harness connector and the block. Then, with the harness still disconnected, look for 4,400ohms between the single pin on the knock sensor and the block. Connect the harness, and check for ~2.5V between the harness pin and the block. If any test fails, you've found the problem.

Re: Diagnostic Trouble Codes.....code 43
Does his site show picutres of the general location of the sensor and wiring? If not, where is the sensor located?
And will I need a jack or lift?

Re: Diagnostic Trouble Codes.....code 43
The sensor is on the passenger side of the block, at the very bottom, just behind the motor mount. If it "fell out" you'd have a big problem, because it also serves as the block coolant drain plug. Check Shoebox's Tech Pages.... he seems to have pictures of everything.

I even just wrote a blurb in the How To section on testing the KS. It still needs a little polishing.
Yes, there are pics of the sensor. ...and you will need something to lift the car.
