injector problem

injector problem

on my freinds car...he has no injector pulse i guess...he pulled the intake and put a cam in...plugged everythign up, car wont start we put starting fluid and it vrooms then dies...but its getting no fuel pulse...has great pressure, the injector fuses in the engine bay are good

Have you verified it with a noid light? If you have, start checking the continuity of each wire to the ecm connector. If they are good and the computer is getting good power and the grounds check out ok then it most likely is a bad ECM.

Scan the PCM for codes. Injector circuit problems will set DTC 18. Also look for DTC 16, loss of high resolution pulse from the Opti. That causes the PCM to shut down the fuel pump and the injectors.

Is it possible you forgot to plug the Opti harness back in, or damaged the harness connector?

i didnt do the work...ill try and check them tomorow...i was going to do this but was wondering if there was somethin else simple that it might be i.e. fuse relay...

You already told us the fuses are fine. There are no other electronic components - just wires. Check for +12V at the pink wire on each of the injector connectors. The PCM provides the ground to fire the injectors.
