injectors
ive finally got all my parts ready to go for the camaro, i was wondering about one last thing though what size injectors to go with or do i even need bigger injectors?. ive got polished and ported intake, heads are ported and polished, and also have bigger valves, cc306 cam, 1.6rrs, patriot gold extreme springs, longtubes, muflex 4inch exhaust , NX 100 wet shot... which is already on the car. i planned on getting a tune from pcmforless. opinions? besides bashing the cc306 lol

Re: injectors
Lol, okay, disregarding the CC306. :P jk jk. I personally would probably guess 30s instead of the stock injectors (26s, I believe). Though I'm not sure with that wet shot. I would guess still 30, but that's just me and what I've heard. I definitely wouldn't go stock though.

Re: injectors
thats kinda what ive read about people using with this cam and basic bolts ons etc. i just wanted a second opinion also what about my fuel pump? should it be upgraded sometimes when i spray it acts like its running out of fuel when i let off then picks back up

Re: injectors
It's not a bad idea with your current setup. However, to see how the system is really doing, throw on a fuel pressure gauge and remove the vacuum hose from the regulator to simulate WOT. It should be between 41 and 47 psi. While driving, a 6-7psi drop is normal, so as long as it stays above 35psi even while under load you're probably fine, but stomp on the pedal to make sure it isn't dropping tons. The loss in power could be something else, too, but if you're fuel pressure dips a lot under load then it's time for a new pump. Go with a racetronix. It costs a bit, but they sell an excellent pump from what people here say.

Re: injectors
Glad the intake got to you without any issues! You should be more then fine running a set of #30lbs. Stay away from the accel injectors as they have had some issues in the past. Do yourself a favour and buy a set of the Ford SVO red top 30lbs and you will be fine. Can usually them used on the forum aswell.

Re: injectors
Estimate the flywheel HP, multiply it by 0.07 to get the minimum size injector you should consider.
Example: 450HP x 0.07 = 31.5, use at least a 32 #/HR injector
There is no problem with going oversize on the injectors, as long as you don't get ridiculous. The stock PCM will handle 42 #/HR injectors with no problems, and the tuner simply puts in the correct injector size.
With the engine under load there is no vacuum, and fuel pressure should not drop below 40psi. Hook up a fuel pressure test gauge, take it out on the road, and watch the pressure at WOT/max RPM. If the pressure stays above 40psi, your pump is fine. On the other hand, the injectors may not be large enough to deliver the fuel, causing the "running out of fuel" under load feeling.
