Installing new Header gasket...what do i need?
Got a Mr. Gasket gasket from autozone. I think my driver side Edlebrock shorty header is leaking.
Just wondering how exactly I take it off if im only doing the driver side. Do I also need to unbolt where it goes into the Y-pipe and remove that?(Meaning I have to get the donut gasket for that as well).
Also, do I use any RTV sealent at all(im pretty sure this answer is no, since I think its too hot, but jes asking).
Loctite on the Bolts?

you only have to remove the header bolts and the air pump pipe that screws into the edelbrock shorty. you don't have to remove the y-pipe from the header. buy some good copper exhaust sealer. its the stuff that comes in the spray can. it will help you seal. spray it on both sides completely and let it dry for a while. it should remain tacky for days, so tackiness is not a good measure for how dry it is. after a heat cycle, retorque the header bolts again. if you don't, they usually make their way loose after a while and blow out a gasket.
