Intake gaskets?

Pointers, tips, ect will be greatly appreciated.

One specific question I have is how much silicon/rtv gasket material do I need to apply in the liffter valley?

I assume that no silicon or gasket material is used between the heads and intake.

All advice or suggestions appreciated.

Re: Intake gaskets?

I've had good luck using the stock GM intake gaskets. Make sure all the surfaces are clean and don't scratch/gouge them when cleaning. I apply a 1/4" wide bead on the front and back of the block/intake interface. Be sure to get a good bead around the fitting for the oil sender. I apply a thin film of RTV on the intake port gasket rectangles. Be sure to seat the intake straight down and tighten the intake bolts in the proper sequence and torque value. Let the RTV cure over night before starting up the engine.
