Intake not fitting

So I got my LE2 heads on, and now the intake won't fit. Lloyd just now told me I have to drill out the intake holes to 1/2, anyone have any thoughts on that?

Are you using guide studs? Is the oil sender unit and mount contacting the back of the intake preventing you from putting it in?

Never heard of drilling the holes out but hey could be something else to add to the bag o' tricks.

Is your issue fitment or ligning the holes up?

It dropped in perfectly, didn't mess up the RTV and I thought I was almost done. Got one side in finger tight and the other side would start and then gall. So I looked a bit and it appears to be a 1/16" off or so.

Well I was going to try and grind out one side with a dremel but then I thought that wouldnt that make the intake sit wrong? This is driving me crazy here, if I drill all the holes out, how can I be sure its sitting in the right place?

I have the same issue. I had the block milled .018" and there was a cleanup cut on the heads. At what point do you need to have the manifold surfaces milled?

I would stick to what Lloyd said after all he is the man when it comes to these situations. If that does not work if the money is there do what Jim said. But Lloyd wouldnt steer you wrong.
