JET Flashing Program Crashed - Bricked OBD II PCM HELP!
I just tried doing my first flash with some small tweaks using the JET 14005 Dynamic Spectrum Tuner Programmer. The JET flash program crashed while sending in the new tune and bricked the PCM.
I tried disconnecting the battery for 15 mins and retrying, but now it won't read, program, or start.
I've found options of getting a new PCM or desoldering/soldering chips to flash a base tune on.
Does anyone perform the desoldering with adding sockets for easy removal for reprogramming if this happens again? I've done stuff like this before, but not sure I have the skill set to do it right. I would prefer this as JET has limited VIN's and have a feeling this may happen in the future.
Car is an 1996 Camaro with OBD2.

re: JET Flashing Program Crashed - Bricked OBD II PCM HELP!
So the flashing utility bricked both PCM's and am sending Jet one to reflash asap.
Has anyone else ran Jets software for LT1's with Windows 10? I followed all their recommendations but the Tuner and flash utility crash all the time and randomly. Not happy spending all this money to make some minor tweaks and now I have a non-running car.
Anyone have better luck with LT1 edit on Windows 10?

I typically test LT1 Edit by downloading the current tune before pushing any changes.

I would think that is a limitation of the driver for your COM port. I like USB adapters from Belkin, they just seem to work.

Re: JET Flashing Program Crashed - Bricked OBD II PCM HELP!
I have been using the Jet DST on my '96 Camaro for 13 years with an XP laptop with built in RS-232 port. I can only remember one time where the program crashed while programming many years ago. Fortunately, by pulling the fuse for awhile it was able to work again. I've probably programmed the PCM 200 times over the years and still going. I'll avoid using Windows 10 or USB to RS-232 adapters for as long as I can.
