Question Jet Hot Long Tubes. Easy to install?

Are Jet Hot LT's easy to install? I hear you have to drop the K-member to get them in. I won't be looking forward to that at all if that's the case. Hopefully someone can chime in.

The toughest part of any header install is getting the stock manifolds off. Afther that it's not too bad...

A buddy helped me install my TPiS long tubes and we didn't have to drop the K-member...just continue jacking the engine up until the headers fall right in...

I thought my Jet-Hot install was pretty easy. Its about having the right tools and someone to help. Other than that its not hard, just takes way too long.

I got my Hooker Long Tubes installed without jacking the engine or dropping the k-member. It was just a matter of getting the car high enough so I could turn the passenger side header right and it went up in fairly easy.

As stated, the hardest part is getting the stock stuff off. After that it's relatively easy.

I've helped with a header install. They were Hookers. I was wondering about Jet Hot or TPiS. Those are cheaper. I'm looking to do this on a budget.

Sure about TPiS being cheaper?

Jet-Hot's and Hooker's are about the same price...TPiS long tubes are around $900 new...

Since the Jet Hot headers are based on the Hooker design, the installation should be very similar.

When you can get TPiS $350 used or Jet Hot's for $499 coated and shipped....I'd say yep.

With any header install if they are long tubes be ready for anything and everything. I mean make sure to have the plug wires out of the way any be prepared to spend a whole day at least on the install(probably take a weekend). And be careful with all the sensors and stuff when you put them in because you dont want to have to be making parts runs all the time. Didnt have to drop the k-member, but the car was on a lift. Dont kid yourself it is hard, but you will like it when it is done. And get someone to help.

yeah rusty TPiS for $350...add at least another $200 for coating...no way you want to be running around with rusty long tubes...

I got mine for $450 off of a guy who used them for 3 months...of course you can get a deal if you buy used...new TPiS and FLP are the most expensive...

You don't have to drop the K member to install Jet-hot LTs. Expect anywhere from 8-15 hours for the install if your alone.

I'm not sure if they're rusty, I'm waiting for pics. If they're in bad shape, then damn, I'll get some new Jet Hots. Do not worry about the install time. I have a friend, I have an access to a lift, I have access to tools. I know I'll like it more when they're on. I can't wait. Thanks for the replies so far.

They are rusty...tell him they need to be recoated and offer him like $250-$300...tell him another pair went for $450 shipped with perfect coating...the TPiS design is unmatched! They weigh so much less that Hooker or Jet-Hot....youd be glad you got them...
