Jet hot longtubes w/hooker y pipe
I have a 94z LT1 with the jet hot longtubes I installed. I have a hooker y pipe and I notice when I prefabed the y pipe up it centers and stops at the tranny crossmemeber(manual tranny). So what have you all been doing as far as not cuting the hooker y pipe and if you all runed the exhaust threw the driveshaft tunnel(looks like plenty of room). I am running my borla rear section and muffler, just want to find a good way to route the exhast to the borla from the y pipe.
Thanks Mark Tisdale
Pics would help alot of anyone has them.

Re: Jet hot longtubes w/hooker y pipe
Well the jet hot y-pipe comes witht he trans cross member part of the pipe bent in already. I would take a rubber mallet and start doing what we all do and bang is down abit (not to much). THEN your gonna think its NEVER gonna fit cus of where the collector for the LT's comes out, its pretty much in front of the trans brace. This is what I did. Loosen the motor mounts abit, put a pry bar between the header (near the connector) and the undercarage of the car, and pry so the motor rocks abit so the collector will slant down. start the bolts for the y-pipe, and when its all done the y-pipe will be tight with the cross member and it wont vibrate or anything let us know how it works out

Re: Jet hot longtubes w/hooker y pipe
I could never get my jethot Y-pipe to clear the tranny brace. Maybe my motor mounts are shot or something.
It would have needed about 2'' more clearance to fit on me. If its not gunna fit relitively easily, send it back and have a custom one made.

Thanks for the info guys, my y pipe is clearing my tranny crossmember fine. I will just install spacers on the tunnel brace so the collector will clear.

I think i misunderstood your dilemma. I had to have my Y pipe punched a tad bit more (made it more oval) and bent a tad to clear. All done by the muffler shop, took about an hour.
