So is a 13.8-14.0 typical stock time for these with the M6? A friend of mine has a 94 Formula and he was only running 14.3's with exhaust and an intake.

Another question in regards to the elevation. ??!!
I'd like to know, since we run at +5800' above sea-level on a good day.

Yeah anywhere below 14 is right on for an m6 with 3.42s and intake/exhaust. With traction that translates into a low 13 run, if you can get the 60ft below 2.0. Just for comparison my car did 277/311 on the dyno with intake/exhaust, I saw somebody on here run a 13.2 with 280/316 and he had traction.

I have yet to see an M6 or an A4 run a sub-14second time yet with just cat-back and cai. I seen 14.7's from one kid the day i was in columbus, but that was an A4. another guy with a stock car was running 14.6's with an m6. i ran a best of 14.38 at 98mph on a 2.12 60'....granted, i'm not the quickets shifter around but still...
i seen brand new LS1 camaro SS's running 13.9's at 103mph stock in cool air.
i'm not calling you all liars, i suppose you guys running 13's with stock cars might be at better tracks or on Nittos but i refuse to believe the "average" m6 LT1 should be running a 13.9 at 102mph until i see it happen. from what i've seen 14.2-14.4 seems to be the average for stock lt1's on street radials and factory weight.
...although i do believe my 97 A4 with crappy 2.73's will run a 14.10 at 99mph... but we'll see when i finally get to take it to the track in april.

well I only made it to the track once and the time and modes are in the sig, as you can see with a few bolt-ons 103-104 sounds about right, I don't think every stock car is going to see those kind of numbers, I have a vert so that doesn't help me. I'm no track expert, but your times do look pretty good, I'm sure with more practice you'll get better times. What was your 60 ft, this makes all the difference in the world. a tenth off your 60 ft can be worth 1.5-2 tenths off your quarter

My car went 13.8 @ 102 with an K&N FIPK and a cutout. Stock i went 14.1 @ 99 or100. So his times look a little slow. Maybe work on your launch and shifting. Shifting can make a big difference. Dont worry, i cant launch either!! See sig......2.3 60 ft

You guys should know by now that not all LT1s run the same when stock. Sure there are some that will run high 13s @ 100+mph but most will run low 14s and trap below 100mph. Some LT1s out there run high 14s stock. This applies for both M6s and autos.

I did not start trapping over 100mph until I got down to 13.7s, my car is an M6 and I do know how to drive it.

Stupid drivers and poor maintenance can have a lot to do with it.

Exactly. I remember i hung with a 96 LT1 Z28 from a 20mph roll to 60mph then we stopped. This was back when i use to have a 98 V6 Camaro with a few bolt ons. These engines are gettin pretty old these days. I have also seen some LT1's run mid to hig 14's. You'd be suprised how much a dirty stock air filter will make.

That's why my next ride's going to be a premium sports car like a vette or what-not... very well-rounded car. "Every little bit counts" -- something a lot of people ignore and lose out on. They come up with he answer "well if I slapped a blower on my Z28, it'll smoke your Z06."

Might be true but your Z28 is going to blow up like a Japanese piece of crap in the long run... hit some curves and the Z06 will blow your paint off... without some serious support modifications, your car is just a piece of junk falling apart faster than 99% of the cars on the road. Furthermore, would you rather have a 400rwhp car that runs 12.0 or a 500rwhp car that runs 12.0?

Just a little something to think about when doing modifications...

95% of the CAI/exhaust M6 cars i have seen go 13.8-14.3 at 100 or so around here.

Mine at that level was a 13.9 at 96.

I have never seen a M6 go that kind of traps around here. Air makes a huge difference in traps.

For example,
My last run i did was a 13.1 at 103.5 on a 1.7 60'. Sounds crappy for the mods i have, but if you adjust for humidity etc it comes out to a 12.7 at almost 107, which is pretty good for a full exhaust/gears car.

Did I say anything about my car at the strip? "Humidity, etc adjustments" that come out .4 sec faster is something a civic owner would say when he sees that his car ran mid 15s after 3 grand in modifications.

I'll post something when I bring my car to the track -- hopefully soon. However, I will not try to estimate adjustments or anything like that... I'll run what I'll run and if it's bad, it'll either be because I'm a ****-poor driver and/or because my car is a slow piece of crap. Only consistent benchmark I've had so far is that...from 0 to about 100, I beat a near-stock 2001 Lightning by a carlength.

Those trapps do seem a little low. I ran at Heartland Park (Topeka KS) with Borla and Moroso CAI and went 13.8@101mph. I would figure the elevation to be the same. What were your 60's?
