wow-
the amount of bickering in here is really sad IMHO .
This guy is all excited that he made it a track his first time and did pretty well. I know I could hardly keep my feet on the floor when I ran a 13.2 my first nite and pulled 2.0 60fts. It was awesome.

Actualy Mr. Barabas,
There are SAE standards which bring things to level playing field for evaluation and comparison purposes. They are VERY accurate. As a matter of fact, when you get a dyno, 99.99% of the time, you get SAE adjusted figures which can be VERY different from your "actual" dyno numbers

Might be true but your Z28 is going to blow up like a Japanese piece of crap in the long run... hit some curves and the Z06 will blow your paint off... without some serious support modifications, your car is just a piece of junk falling apart faster than 99% of the cars on the road. Furthermore, would you rather have a 400rwhp car that runs 12.0 or a 500rwhp car that runs 12.0?

Just a little something to think about when doing modifications...
Best of luck to ya Alex, Japanese cars are very reliable.
You can go be a jack of all trades, my car serves a purpose. Get from point to point b faster than you where point a and point b are 1320 ft apart. Why dont you go tell Rich Krause their car is a piece of junk. A lot of guys, myself included, put a ton of time and effort into our cars. We dont like hearing crap like this. Enjoy your "well rounded car." some of us aren't weaking skirts. Real men have lope. Sure your vette can take twisties better and looks cleaner(arguabley) but did anyone notice th $30,000 price differance? How about the insurance rates?

Yeah, at the end of the day I have a Z28 that is barely idling chugging down 110 octane and pulling wheelies while screaming down the 1320 in 11.5 sec while your beloved Z06 is calmly sitting there elegantly strolling the 1/4 in 12.5 sec-
but its still 1 second behind me. And in this sport- you just lost.
Would I prefer a Z06? yeah! I'd also prefer my camaros bills.
And coming from somene who has $50,000 in cars-
I'd rather have my truck (03 silverado 4x4) and my camaro (95 383 LT1) than one Z06. Not to mention my insurance is STILL same price, but now I can offroad, have a GREAT roomie daily and a dragstrip/weekend warrior.
Ever hear the phrase built not bought?
Stop being a bastage and raining on everyones parade is what i'm trying to say.

Kansas is mostly on the high side of 1700 ft in ground elevation, this time od the year is very humid I would say at least 80 % humidity and probably 45 degrees at midnight. I have run my car in Kansas several times (ark city and wichita) and both are very good track but wichita seems the slower of the two. In an Oklahoma summer at Thunder valley my car bone stock ran a 14.3 @ 99 mph after the moroso honker and flowmaster MUFFLER , I knocked down 13.8s in the 100 degree Oklahoma summer elevation was 1530 @ the track. Baro was 35 and rising and ambient temp was 102 F with a 15 mph crosswind.

Oh I forgot, guys a drag logbook is very handy. It really keeps your cars performance or perceived lack therof in perspective.
Any racer should call it required material.

Real men have lope? You insecure with your masculinity? Need a car to back it up? Sure lope is good but that's the last thing I'd say about my car... "real guys have fast cars." Real guys have a life... career... are sucessful... when it comes down to it, the fast car is just a toy. That's what mine is -- I don't use it to boost my self esteem or make up for lack of personality... last post on this thread... let's all stop hatin' on eachother and start hatin' on some stangs.
