K&N and MAF are a problem

K&N and MAF are a problem
After installing my ATI procharger, the instructions call for moving the air filter and MAF to the lower front of the car. Okay, except for a new problem... When it rains, water gets sucked into the filter and drips onto the maf, which causes momentary loss of power when the maf can't figure out WTF.
So the other day, I was cleaning my filter (K&N) and oiled it, per instructions. Everything is fine, but occasionally I would get this momentary loss of power and an SES light might come on. Shortly, everything is fine and the light would go out when normal...hmmm. Well, I took the air filter and MAF off and...sure enough, the MAF wires were filthy with K&N oil and dirt. I took some carb & choke cleaner and doused it real good. Everything is fine now.
I recall a previous note on this earlier and a Chevy tech bulletin warning of such.

Beware using carb cleaner on the MAF hot wires. Electrical contact cleaner works best and you can use brake cleanr in a pinch but try to stay clear of carb cleaner due to the lubricitive (not sure if thats a word) residue.
But yes oil from a filter is comon for contaominating the MAF
