Kn Fipk

Hey i just got my KN FIPK in the mail yesterday. I got it used and without a filter. My question is this...It didn't include the little "seal" that the filter clamps to. The filter measures 4" inner diameter. The FIPK measures 3 3/4" where the filter goes without that "seal/extension" Will the replacement filter that i ordered fit this? or will i have to get a smaller one?

Thanks

Are you talking about the black plastic "plate" that is just to the left of the main FIPK part in the picture on this page?

If so, you might want to call K&N and see how much they'd charge you for just that piece... and a filter

My K&N filter goes right on the big black elbow[part on right in Brent's pic]
That may be why you didn't get many replys.. people are confused by your question?

Are you sure that you got the right K&N filter for it?

Replacement Filter: K&N RF-1015 is for the K&N FIPK 57-3010-1
[which I see DOES have a 'flange ID of 4"..hmmm]
The filter goes directly on the elbow[ that mounting plate has nothing to do with the filter.. it just blocks off the larger hole it goes thru..
are you sure the FIPK is the right one?

Can't measure mine easily or I would for you..
Here's a link to a pdf file of the instructions and all the parts for the K&N for our cars..

yeah i didn't even think to look at that before i posted...but yeah the mounting plate is what i am talking about. I guess my question is does the filter hook to the mounting plate? or directly to the main arm? After looking at that picture i am wondering if i even need the mounting plate. i mean it just keeps a little bit of warm air from the engine compartment out but...aww heck. i ain't gonna fret over it. the filter'll be here wednesday...i'll worry about it then. Thanks guys

Just so you know, and I did post it above, the filter goes right on to the elbow, not on to the mounting plate..
If that's the filter you ordered[K&N RF-1015 ] it should fit..
If not then the elbow isn't the right one for these cars[K&N FIPK 57-3010-1] Does it match the pics OK?

The filter goes on the bottom of Part A, which is the intake tube.
