knock=ses light?

If your knock sensor picks up knock, will it just retard timing or will the ses light also come on. Maybe I'm just trippin', but I think I might be knocking. No ses light, though.

I believe it will just retard your timing, you'll have to hook it up to a scanner to see the actual knock retard.

No code/light for knock retard. Only code you will get for the knock sensor would be a failure of the sensor or the wire, or a bad ground on the sensor.

But if you can hear knocking (detonation), it would appear the knock retard system is either not working, or that the required knock retard exceeds the amount permitted by the programming (~15* stock).

I'm probably just being paranoid, cause I just got the knock sensor and wiring replaced. Also, the mechanic didn't pick up any knock, but i can hear a faint ticking sometimes when I accelerate. Rather seldom, but I still hear it.

I would start checking for an exhaust leak. Then look to the rockers.
