Knock Modules, to learn something new every day...

Won't have access to check for myself until the weekend, but does '93 LT1's utilize a knock module like their 94-97 brothers? Additionally, what's the location of the removable/burnable chip on a '93?

The reason for the above is I'm still trying to diagnose my sporatic miss issue I'm having as well as improve bolt-on only performance. Thanks.

Nope, the 93 doesn't have a removable knock module like the 94-97's.

I didn't think so, and thanx for the quick reply.

Knock module no, knock sensor yes. Find the noise and correct it, and then get a tuner/tune for aftermarket parts (roller rockers) to stop it from picking them up.

Knock sensors/modules and missing are not usually related.

I didn't think so either Rob, but I'm having a devil of a time trying to backyard diagnose this, as the only consistency the miss/hesitation has is after 3 or so trips down the strip, or after the car has been warmed up and driving for a while, and then it's still hit and miss. I think I will likely end up doing an electrical tuneup and have the simple stuff checked out like the alt/battery, plugs & wires, and maybe swap out my ignition coil too. All parts I have on hand anyways so it wouldn't hurt. Thanks.

High temperatures can cause problems with the IC Module. Have you checked that? Have you spaced if off the head, as shown on Shoebox's website, to reduce heat buildup?

Don't mean to sound dumb or anything, but abbreviations I'm having a morning brain fart on, lol...that's the one off the intake elbow correct? No, I haven't done that yet but it worked well on a '94 TA I had. All I did was add a little wire blocked off the inlet on the elbow and relocated it real close to my air filter. Same intake as well (Moroso CAI), so if that's it, consider it done. I race again Friday evening, we'll see how it goes & I'll post back. Thanks again!

Ignition Control Module...it's the module that is part of the coil assy.

http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#ICM_cooling

IAT is what is on the intake elbow that gives the PCM the Intake Air Temperature.
