knock sensors and OBD1 conversion
I got another question for ya. My engine was an OBD2. I thought that i could just put in the reprogrammed OBD1 computer for the conversion. I just found out that the knock sensors are different. So here is my question. Could having the OBD2 knock sensor be the reason that my car wont start. If so, can the problem be fixed by just programming or must i buy new knock sensors. Im going home for a little bit on friday. So if this is the problem i think i can get it fired up. whatcha think?

I've had my OBDI conversion done by a fellow by the name of Kelly. I'm not sure if he still roams this boards but anyway, most people will have their PCM wired inside to allow you to use your stock knock sensor, I think what they do is to use a jumper to make it a plug and play device. I'm not sure if the way you've had it done, would work just like that without making changes.

I got my OBDI conversion from madz28 (Ion) from this board. It was totally plug and play. All I did was put the new computer in and go. Depending on where you got your OBDI PCM it may or may not be this way. I'm no expert so you'll have to seek other opinions.

no i dont have all of the basics. if my injectors were working and my plugs were firing my car would be running.
something is preventing the computer from sending the signals to the injectors and ignition control module.

i got my conversion from mad wolf too. you have to do something with the way the computer reads the knock sensor from the oobd II sensor to the obd I computer.
email or pm madwolf, ion can help you out. he is a great guy to deal with
