MPH should be higher. You definitely still have some things to work out.

1.60 60 so the car launches hard.

Not sure what elevation you are at but if the elevation sucks, that will ba a lil MPH.

Other than that, Tq converter brand (Yank and Vigilante are whjt i would sugguest), converter lock up, rocker adjustment (1 /16 past zero lash), better tuning needed, fuel pump, etc, etc can all hurt MPH. Lots of things can cuse MPH to be low but for what ever reason, it is not seeing the MPH it should. I would think you should be OVER 114 MPH and closer to 116-117 MPH if at normal elevation.

Once you get it ironed out and see some better trap speed, the 1/4 ET's will come down also.

I would say he should be happy with 114-115 in a stalled automatic car.

EDIT: You're right. I forgot he put down over 380 rwhp.

hey, whats going on.

I was thiking you had a B/M converter, Did you ever swap to a Vig or yank that locks up more efficient up top?

I have had my best luck just leaving from an idle and tromping the gas off the line. I usually get 1.60-1.63 60 fts doing this (best is a 1.59) and the more I stall it, the worse the 60 fts get.

Lloyd, I forget, whos converter and what stall rating are you using? 1 badz28, those are some decent times and it looks like you still have more in it, once you tweak it.

Yank SS 3200 is what is in my car.

Foot brake is kinda misleading on "stall size" but just cruise around at 40-50 MPH or so in 3rd gear at 1400-1600 RPM and nail the gas for a second. The tach should jump up to 3000 RPM (or whatever the stall is) or so before it downshifts.

Mine shows about 3800 RPM by doing this but it is a 383 with a fatter TQ curve than most 350/355's and a HEAVY car (3820 lbs with me in it) sothe converter will stall and flash more than in a lighter car with less TQ.

Something I don't recall anyone asking...what gear are you running? 3.23s? If so that could be a reason for the somewhat low trap. When I had my 92 Vette, I had More Performance ported heads, LT4 Hot Cam, shorties, Torkmaster 2400 stall, lid, K&N and cat back. I kept my 2.59s in the rear and the car would run a best of 12.90s@107-108 with 2.1 60's. Now, later when I sold the car to my buddy, we put some 3.73s in it. The the best trap speed LEAPED to 114.2 mph on a cold pass. He ended up running a 12.5@110 with a 1.86 60' hot lapping on a humid night.

At any rate my point is if you don't have some 3.73s or 4.10s that may be the last piece to the puzzle. If you do then...sorry I will shut up
