LE2 HEAD & CAM SETUP vs. Bottom end.
#16
The LE2 cam is fine for the 6500rpm range. I am working on a new B-Spec series of cams that all work out to be a tad smaller than the current LE cams. Smaller cams are not a bad thing at all, but what we have put out there now is fine for either of the stock rods. FWIW I think the PM's might be a better rod since that's the standard on LS1 rods and those can take slightly higher RPM 6800rpm and a longer stroke 3.622" vs. 3.480", but I do believe that the LS pistons are lighter than the LT stuff.

What years got the PM rods? I'm planning to do some road coarse lapping days sometime later this year and the last thing I want to do is blow my motor on the track.

Throw a blower on the stock bottom end with a small cam - leave the heads untouched, shift at 6200rpm - complete driveability, decent gas mileage, no need for an obnoxious gear (3.42 is great) and run sub 11's on pump gas.
