LE2 Heads 2 Much?

Thinking about the LE2 Heads for my set up. I was also looking at the Trickflow 185 21* heads, but just a little more than I want to spend right now. Anyway I run a 94 Vette Lt1 built 4l60E w/3000 stall, 3.54 Dana44,Hoosier DR's, TPIS zz409 Cam with 226/226@50 - 555/555 w/1.6 rr's, TPIS long tube headers, 52mm TB, AFPR, and a pcm4less tune. Stock intake, Heads, injectors and cubes.
Car has run a best of 12.48@111 and a 1.76 60'. On a hot crap day it will run 12.6-12.7@108-109.
Will the LE2 heads be to much for my cam and set up, or should I go with the Trickflows? The 205 intake ports seem a bit much on the LE's.
I have no experience with LE or his products so any info/opinion would be great.

You will have room to grow with the LE2's or just go with the LE1's with stainless valves like I did.

Re: LE2 Heads 2 Much?

The heads are used, so LE1 not an option. Just looking for a head that will get me into the 11's on a good day or real darn close without having to rev it to the moon or loose alot of low end. I still like to visit the stoplights on Saturday night.

Re: LE2 Heads 2 Much?

I don't see why the le2 will be too much as long as the car is tuned correctly.

Re: LE2 Heads 2 Much?

i won't get into my personal experience with the "too big of a head" myth..but i will say this..with the right tune and maybe a custom cam or something more suitable to the extra breathing potential those le2's....that car will just "click"..and 11's will be so easy..you will moving onto 10's as a goal..

i had much larger heads on smaller cubes and was rewarded with 18mpg and 22mpg when my wife drove the car..everyday!..and drove it on very long 500 mile trips, and took it to the track every other weekend...

Re: LE2 Heads 2 Much?

I think you will be fine, but if you want the best answer just ask LE.

Re: LE2 Heads 2 Much?

I daily drove a le2 383 3600 stall 12bolt 3.91 gears, stock suspension for 2 years straight with a madz28 tune, ran a best of 11.87 with drag radials on chrome zr1 17'' drag radials ... it had more in it and picked up some with a dyno tune, but eventually spun a main bearing before i was able to go back to the track

keep in mind I live in long island ny there is always traffic here

Re: LE2 Heads 2 Much?

I don't daily drive mine, but it does see a lot of street time. I am running le2s on a stock bottom end with a 4000 stall. The only problem I ever have in traffic is people staring at me wondering why it sounds so funny.

I am talking about when people hear the lopey cam and loud exaust. One time a guy told me I had a massive misfire in a parking lot.

Re: LE2 Heads 2 Much?

I daily drive the vehicle in my signature with more potent heads and a hotter cam, so it's mostly in the tuning and overall setup.
