lifter question???

when I'm adjusting the lash for my rockers do the lifters uncompress when I remove the load on them. do they naturally expand or is there some thing that needs to be done to make them uncompress. I'm just trying to re adjust my roller rockers thanks.

When you take preload off them they will move up until you reach 0 lash then they will stay there.

I will reach zero lash when there is no play with the push rod and the rocker right?? I usually spin the rod until I feel some a small amount of tension on the rod while spinning it, is that okay. doing this when nuber one cylinder is at top dead center. is that okay?

www.shbox.com

There's a full writeup there. I recommend pulling the pushrod up and down until there is not slack left instead of spinning it. If you go too far, you should leave that one for a while to let it expand back out until you go to adjust it again otherwise you'll put more preload than you want.
