lifter/valve lash question

I just want to verify valve lash with the lifters I am using. I am using CCA-850-16 which are comp cam oem replacement lifters. I have them valve lash set ¼ turn past zero. The reason I ask is because I noticed the thread about Comp R’s being set at zero. Mine are obviously not R’s, but anyone know exactly what spec range?

They're still zero lash. How much you need to turn past zero? You should be in the range of 1/4 turn to 1/2 a turn. Just need to play it by ear.

If you want to know the exact setting, ask comp cams about the rockers you have. It's measured in thousandths of an inch telling you how far the lifter plunger should get depressed. Then find the thread pitch of your rocker studs and calculate the distance between threads. That is how far the nut (polylock) will go down with one full turn. So then you know exactly how far to turn the nut past zero lash.

I think it's called "lifter preload" or something like that.

Alittle off the topic here, but what kind of hp/tq and track times you got with your combo?
