i finally got mine on and it makes a hell of a diference to me at least. much more power throught the whole power badn low end and high end. pulls all the way to redline no hesitation pure pwoer! opens up the motor so much form the stock intake!

back to topic to answer ur question, yea man it still hits the hood its just the weird shaped size of the intake tube yyou get. the K&N filter is oversized its huge, barely fits in that well where its supposed to go i think its 4 inches round and like 9 inches long. it cost me a total of 168.95 or so.

I like mine. No problems with the fit. There was a noticable improvement. LPE claims a 12hp gain on a stock 95 z28 with it, which seems about right.

The filter for the LPE is a genuine K&N and is at least twice as big as the Moroso's filter. It sits lower too.
I've got a Moroso CAI on my 396 stroker. It has no problem breathing, especially with a 58mm TB. My son has a K&N on his 94 Z and I din't notice any differences in the filter element size.

Wow. You got way more responses than I did when I was inquiring about the Lingenfelter CAI. I drilled two holes when i installed mine but I only ended up using one of the holes for the plate. but it was a relatively easy install. I had to go to home depot and buy a new clamp because the plastic worm clamp wouldn't close tightly enough on the tubing. I noticed a slight difference in mine, however I've never been to the track so i don't have hard evidence. But I'm satisfied with it, definitely for the price.

yep, you got it...if you are unsure call Ed at Lingenfelter 260-724-2552 ext 1002...He'll hook you up right..He's there right now...I've been running mine since 1995 only I use a HUGE K&N filter that hanges down about 3" off the ground...you have to remove the splash pan, but it really grabs the air...NOT recommended if you see rain.....

As much FUN as it sounds this is totally unaceptable on a daily driver. Did you say it hangs only 3 inches from the ground?
