Ok, come up to dragway 42 and run that, can't be more than a few hours North from where they are currently running.
wurd. i have a cam plus mods in the sig and am only running 103-105mph. i'm also in Ohio...hmm....DarkHorse, what do you think? Maybe our air sucks really bad and that's why our cars are so "slow." i always heard new cobras were high 12 second cars. he ran at 106mph while i was running 104 but never got quicker than a 13.6 in an 04 cobra 'vert. anyways, 118 mph in a bolton car is whack!

Re: Local '94 Z28 (bolt-on ONLY) goes 12.1 @ 118.1

I found out last night that a friend of mine has one of this guy's runs on his timeslip...he ran against him in another friend's Trans Am (mostly bolt-ons with a little munchkin cam). I'll post the scanned timeslip later this week when I get a hold of it, but from what he has told me about the run...

The car in question pulled a crappy 2.0 60', was outran in the 1/8th by my friend in the Trans Am, but then the car in question outran my friend on the top end and got his 12.1 @ 118. I'm not real sure how that works (making up for a crappy 60' and being slow according to the 1/8th mile numbers, but ripping *** on the top end)...it makes his story even more unbelievable. Sounding more and more like spray to me.

Sounds like he hit the spray after the 60ft mark or so, probably a 50-75 shot. Like I said earlier, that ET is possible for a bolt on car with all the right mods, suspension work and weight reduction but that MPH is BS for a bolt on car. And that ET along with a 2.0 60???? It would take a killer 60' for a bolt on car to hit that ET, a 1.6 would be more like it.

yep..I know that the fastest bolt on cars out there are in the 1.5-1.6 range to get close to that et.

He's talking about LT1Dave, who didn't spray when he ran his best time. Dave ran his time because the DA that day was -1200. After he made the N/A pass (10.76 @ 131.x), he pulled back around, purged, sprayed off the line and exploded his opti 60' out...end of the day for him after that.

Basically, he went from trapping 127-128 MPH in +2000 DA weather all season long to trapping 131.x in -1200 DA weather. It's also the day when Jared (atljar) ran his 11.98 when his previous best was a 12.4x (note that he removed his sway bar and added skinnies that day, but those don't add up to a 0.5 second difference).

what I would like to know is why the shop that built the car was very obviously trying to claim that it was a bolt on only car.

I don't know but I'd steer clear of them if I was in that area if that's the kind of bs claims about their work they're trying to pull.

PS. To clear the air if my car is sprayed or not, Yea it is until i get the cash for the cam i want. Its just a small 150 shot.
Just a small 150 shot??? OMG
