Long Tubes for 96 LT1

Long Tubes for 96 LT1
I am yanking my trans and sending it up to CPT to get a full race build put in. While the car is down for a little while. I'm thinkin about puttin a set of headers on it. I want to put a set of long tubes on, and also be able to run cats b/c of emissions, damn VA laws.
Thunder racing has a deal "LT1 Headers & Dual-Cat Y-pipe Package." These look like they are mid lengths. Anyone have a suggestion as to which ones would be the best? I know Kooks are prolly the best ones, but will A Speed & Marine do the job?

First of all, long- tubed headers with he preferred way to go if you can. Coated lts are the the only way to go. Pace setters, so I hear, are the least expesive and best fitting way to go. Kooks, Grotahans, AS&M are good quality, if not the best fitting, but....if you have strong enforcement of emissions, you are not supposed to move the postition of the Cats or change the number of cats that came with the car. So if you aren't plannning to move the position of the cats, going with anything that requires moving the position of the cats, e.g., long-tube headers, so-called middies, etc. are not going to work for you.
Now, if they never check your exhaust system, then by all means, opt for Stainless, Ceramic-coated long-tube 1 3/4, top of the line headers.
JMHO

Kooks is the only one that offers a catted y-pipe for long tube headers that I know of. I have the Pacesetter long tubes with emissions fittings and I had my y-pipe modified with a pair of high flow mini-cats. The passenger side is not a big deal, there is plenty of space there, the drivers side however, is trickier due to fuel/brake lines, torque arm, ect in the way. That is where a smaller length cat comes into play.
