Lope and tuning question

I have the Comp Cams 502. 218/224 duration. Right now my idle is around 1000-1100. It idles good but I want to hear the cam more. If I drop the idle to 850 or so how big of a difference do you think it would make? Also you guys with tuning programs, which program is better? LT1 Edit or TunerCat? Thanks.

Re: Lope and tuning question

The lower it idles the more it will lope.
The best tune is a PCMforless or Madwolf mail order tune.
If ya haven't tuned on a LT1 computer ya can MESS IT UP real quick.
It isn't necessary to tune on it all the time to warrant the price of a tuning system. Get a mail order tune or take it to a local tuner and let them tune it on their dyno.

Since it says your from NC, I'd highly reccomend Jeff Creech in Durham. That dude knows his poop. Best tuner there is for our cars, hands down. Doesn't hurt that he's also a damn nice guy. 919 680 3966 is his number, give him a call and tell him Eric Richardson sent you.

Re: Lope and tuning question

If you want to drive out to greensboro (I'm 10 mi north of it), I have tunercat and can change your idle. I won't touch any other part of the tune that you do not want adjusted. Just bring a $20 w/ ya and some beer or something.

I'll be in the garage most evenings trying to get my project off of jackstands, so just let me know.

Your just a little north of me.

We can dyno tune it if you want. If you want to try it yourself I would suggest tunercat.
