lost power

I have a 94 z28 and first it was back firing at wot at about 4500 rpms but it was running fine just driving around.i put it off and it had been that way for about 7 or 8 months. now the thing lost all power and is serging. i checked the fuel filter and it was a little restrictive so i blew it out with the air and drove it to see if it helped.it did'nt. does anyone know what the problem is? ive also have changed the air filter.

I would start with the plugs and wires, how do they look? Autozone wouldn't be able to scan your car anyway, they only do OBD-II vehicles.
