Low oil pressure = saving for rebuild, need advice on parts!
Ok so my oil pressure is low, very low, shorblock has 100k miles and shows about 7psi at idle on a mech, and up to 25 psi at 3 grand, now I know that is minimum tolerance, but basically it needs a rebuild, this according to what I read on this site.
Now I did a search on rebuilding the bottom end and here is what I have planned, let me know if this is a good idea or bad.
FEM-CSMHP766-322 Engine Rebuild, 4.030 in. Bore, Chevy, Small Block LT1, Kit
(Q # 1 = what does undersizing the bearings do? I see a stock size and under size, so is undersize for when they need to clean up those parts of the block from scaring?)
People say that high volume pump on stock pan is bad, so that kit comes with a HV, so I should pick up a stock one.
ARP-134-6005 Rod Bolts, High Performance 8740 Complete, Chevrolet 350 PM Rod 96 LT1/LT
There is a great machine shop down the street, so I can get the block/crank and rotating assembly all done there, plus hone overbore as necessary and mag it.
I have thoughts that doing a cam is best at this time as well, so I will save for that, I figure a CC305 as this is my DD. And also a timing chain recommendations???
Heads are rebuilt with CC983 KIT springs and new seals, valves where cleaned and stock rockers.
Is there anything I am missing?

Re: Low oil pressure = saving for rebuild, need advice on parts!
I had an oil pump fail and read PSI #'s identical to yours. Before you drop the cash on a new motor, see if its just not the pump. I replaced mine with a Melling(not a high volume but 10% more than stock) pump and it runs with more pressure than ever before. Also, a compression test might give you a better idea of what went wrong.

Ill runa compression test, plus I had replaced the oil pump before dropping it in witha new one, I suppose that could be bad. Ill check into that, anything is easier then pulling the engine
