Low Oil Pressure after LT1 swap

My friend just swapped an LT1 from a 96 WS6 into his 95 v6 camaro, and his oil pressure is only about a needle or two above 0 psi, it goes up when he revs it, but shouldn't it be more than this?

Re: Low Oil Pressure after LT1 swap

How high does the pressure go when he revs it? I have a feeling there may be something wrong with the oil pressure sending unit. They have a tendency to go bad. I would suggest hooking up a mechanical gauge to get a true reading of the oil pressure. If the pressure really is that low, then the engine is probably worn out. Good luck!

Re: Low Oil Pressure after LT1 swap

Did you remove the oil pressure sender from the rear of the intake before removing either motor? That's easily damaged when the motor is tilted back...usually results in 0 oil pressure, but I suppose it could fail differently.
