Why did you go with an LS1 over an LT4? The LT4 has the same horsepower if not more and is a direct bolt in.

Thats pretty cool, alot of work I hear though. An LS1 swap is something I was considering to do to my car in a couple of years in order to stand out a little bit from the crowd. I really doubt it will happen though unless an LS1, tranny, and k-member along with all the other little things fall into my lap from the sky. How long did the swap take you to complete?

had a lt4 383 in this car. it was broken. sold everything off. came across a deal on a ls1 car that was beyond repair. took its heart. and put it in my 93. it gets plenty of double takes . cause i used the lt1 cai on it with a 1le elbow. so when you look at the motor your like wtf? the car itself looks like a v6 camaro. stock hood, stock wheels, no emblems and no tailpipes.

didnt take long at all about 2 days of work. this swap was easier than putting the 6 speed into my 72 camaro.the hardest part is wiring.

What does the LS platform have that the LT platform doesn't?

i have a friend that has swapped a ls1 and a t56 in his 94 v6 camaro. and did the ls1 front facia conversion too. I'll try to get pics, he also said the wiring was the hardest part.

How about an aluminum block = less weight for one.
More standard hp from the factory
no optispark dist. to fail
and the list goes on and on
