LS1 forum growing faster every day. What will happen to the LT1?

This is an almost completely pointless thread but i've noticed the LS1 people are posting more and more often, and now theres more of them. Is the LS1 finally starting to become "cheap power"? Are stock LT1's becomeing obsolete and underpowered but with potential (like the 5.0's)? Will LS1's owners one day have a greater influence in this forum then we have?

I don't think they are getting any cheaper to mod. Every time I see a cam kit for a LS1 car I shiver. Then if I want to replace the rockers my goodness. I am glad I drive a LT1

The thing about it is the LS1 is a truely remarkable engine in so many ways except of course the higher pitched sound they produce, I couldn't fathom what and all aluminum crate engine would cost.

I dont think the LT1 is going anywhere. They will always be one of the best bang for the buck cars around. With technology comes advances, while the LS1 will always respond to just a couple mods much better than the LT1 ever will, with a properly modded LT1 you will always be able to hand an LS1 it's A$$ IMO.

The LS1 will probly go the same route as the LT1 once they offer a Camaro with the LS2 in it.

Cars only become obsolete if you let them. GM doesn't manufacture 409s any longer and they're still popular amongst the older hot-rodding crowd.

There are plenty of people out there that swear by L98s....they're 1st generation blocks. There are just as many people that swear by LT1s and LS1s.

As of the debut of the LS2, the LS1 will be yesterday's news. Then everyone will be swinging on the LS2's nuts. After that, there will be the LS3, LS4, LS5, and so on.

Actually, this forum has grown quite a bit just this year. Even with the LT1 gone for such a long time, this forum continues to grow. It's going to be a long time before the LT1s end up in the salvage yard so until then I don't think we have to worry about our forum drying up

I agree with Brent. I am new to this forum this year,
even though I bought my 97 new and have been
active on fishing forums for years. The primary factor
will be the number of vehicles on the road at any
given time. And most of the modded vehicles are
at least a couple of years old, so for now there will
probably be more LT1 activity. Once the LS1s get a
little older and start hitting the second hand market
the tides will probably turn, but this is years away.

Besides that, LT1s are the last of the attractive F-bodies produced.....so they'll be around for plenty of years to come.
