Ls1 Injectors

Is there anyway i can get them to work. I know there 4 bar blah blah blah but the comp only tells them to use whats needed, but anyways they seem a little too short when i put them into the fuel rails and screw into the intake. Can i grind down the intake a little a little to get them to fit in. I'll get pics up in a little bit. Peopel have said i can use them but idk if they had the same problem.

Not sure if this will help or not, but, Injectors from GTP's flow at 34lbs/hr, and you can find them pretty cheap. Check out this thread:

Just curious, why are you spending tons of time and effort trying to get LS1 injectors to work when you can get a matching set of SVOs 30, 42, 50, etc... that have a way better spray pattern and will be plug and play?

Also dont LS1 injectors flow the same rate as the LT1 injectors on stock fuel presure?

I dont know why u went to LS1's but i have some in my car (a 93) and they fit fine, i just had to push them in all the way. I pushed them in by hand as far as i could and tightened the fuel rail bolts down to get them the rest of the way in, worked fine.

BTW wtf is 4 bar?

Well I couldnt pass up free 28lb injectors better then my stock 22lb.

O and 4 bar is what there rated at pressure wise our lt1s are 3 bar like 48. somthin and ls14 bar are 58. somthin but you are correct on our fuel system they will flow the same.

But yea did you push them into intake first or in fuel rails i put mine in fuels rails and put it in and tighten it down and they were alittle short of going in.

Hey just a correction, the stock injectors are 24# not 22 and as to the PSI, I am almost certain the PSI rate on the LT-1 is 43.5 not 48. Free injectors are always good, but I am not sure they will work and if they don't seat properly you could have leak issues and fuel in the engine bay during driving is not a good idea. Might be best just to spend the money and get the right injectors.

93s were 22 lb 94-97 were 24# and yea i wasnt sure on those pressures its was a good rough est but i know the ls1s ones are susposed to flow 10 or more so. Im hopeing to get these to work cause im broke cant buy new ones and dont fell like leaving in the 22lb ones. Hopefully theres a better way or a way to customize them to fit i hope 97fomry replys i might as well just trust to customize them to fit lol . Thanks for the info on the rate. Cause i wasnt 100% on it.

I put mine into the motor first the put on the fuel rail, it might take some work but they will fit (almost all fuel injectors are interchangable as far as size)

As for the flow rattings, yeah 93's are 22# at 43 psi, and the ls1 are 28# at like 50psi witch = about 24# at 43 PSI.

So you will get 2 more #'s and some new injectors. YOu dont even need a tune to upgrade to those.

It doesnt look as if your car requires 30# injectors as of now, maybe once you do the heads it will be time to step up.

I am not an expert on it but i would think that you will be ok. YOu need to scan the comptuer and see what duty cycle your injectors are running at. Anything above 80% and i would go to larger ones to be safe, and any thing above 90% i wouldnt drive the car WOT on.

Do a search for injector duty cycle and read injuneer's posts reguarding injector size needed

This is the first time I've heard of anyone having problems with the length of the LS1 injectors in an LT1. Are you sure they are LS1 injectors?

And as noted above, when you get all done, and you run them at stock LT1 fuel pressure, they will flow the same as a stock (94-97) LT1 injector. While the 93 ECM can adjust pulse widths to compensate for the 2 #/HR increase in injector capacity, it will not make that correction when you go WOT, and you will be running about 10% richer than the already too rich LT1 programming provides.

i had the same problem with my injectors. i got a set of 36lb fast injectors from an ls1 on the cheap and they were slightly too short so i ground the top of the intake a little and they seem to fit fine now.

Injuneer, I have heard both that LT fuel trims will and wont effect the car at WOT, are you sure it doesnt?
