LS2 in LT1 body

Has anyone shoe-horned an LS2 into an LT1 bodied 4th gen yet? That would be a fun project

Didnt know where to put this so i tossed it in LT1 Tech, as im sure there are some complications with the LT1 platform accepting the LS2

It's been done bunches of times. Check out the hybrid section on LS1tech for gobs of information about an LSx swap into an LT1 car.

Speartech converts the harness to make it plug and play for about $500.

I think it would be more worth your time and money to just sell your LT1 car and buy an LS1 car...they are getting pretty cheap these days. For the price of the LS2 motor alone you could put a nice heads/cam package on the LS1 and get the same or more HP.

In most cases yes, it's be cheaper to just sell and buy another.

People who are crazy like me would do it through. That being said I've owned my car since 1999 and have no plans to ever get rid of it... so in the future it may see a swap. I love my car and I hate the LS1 front end.

I don't know if it is necessarily the most complicated swap, but it can sure tally up once you get the drivetrain parts, the k-member, and as Javier97Z28 mentioned, having the wiring harness converted. The LS2 swap is starting to become old news now, people are "shoehorning" LS7s in there now.

with the L76 heads now becoming available for dirt cheap, im sure lots of people will be doing this.

Im comtemplating this myself, should I sell my lt1 and buy a ls1 and convert or just strip down my lt1 and make an LS2 + L76

Plus i would like to go from manual to auto

hate the catfish

and i had no idea this was being done. I would kill to have a nice LS2 in my LT1 body. The badass looks of the LT1 body with the reliable 400+hp of the LS2. ftw.
