ls6 spings on lt1?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am pretty sure I am going to try this set up?(Gm ls6 valve springs+787 comp retainers 105lb@1.75/320lb@1.2)$100.I read on a vette thread a guy ran these on a 95 vette with the cc502 cam +cc 1.6 rockers, and just dropped them in right in place of the stock springs, left 1.74 instead of 1.80 installed height and he checked the springs to these specs. The springs have 90lbs at 1.80 and to get them there you run off-set locks, but is not needed on lt1 with cams in the .550 range.Ok, now that all out, what do you guys think? He has been running this set up for 18k miles, and shifts at 6,100 to 6,200.I love bang for the buck,I am really leaning towards this set up with the cc502 cam.

To begin with you should go with at least the recommended spring specs on your Cam Card, nothing less. I assume that they are dual springs and fit the stock seats. Doesn't hurt to go with a stronger than recommended spring to ensure plenty of coil bind room and strength for high revs.

Don't confuse "bang for the buck" with "quality for the buck" when it comes to valve train components. JMHO
