The LT4 intake has the hole and threads for the EGR mounting studs - exactly the same as the LT1 intake. They just didn't bolt an EGR valve onto the LT4 Corvettes. I believe the few LT4 1997 F-Bodys had the EGR valve in place.

Moving to the correct forum.......

Thanks

Just wondering because I seen a picture of an LT-1 intake that looked alot different than my 95 lt-1.All the ones I have seen have big allen plugs you can remove to access the egr valley in the bottom, and this 1 doesn't have any and it's not red.I guess it could be an lt-4 that someone blasted to the natural alum. collor, but if someone has a picture of an lt-4 intake from the bottom,it would answer my question. Thanks guys.

I have both the LT1 and an LT4 intake. They are totally identical in appearance, other than the red powdercoat. The EGR system provisions, the big pipe plugs in the underside, etc. are all IDENTICAL.

The manifold appears to have been highly modified. Appears the entire center section has been cut out. You can see where the IAC passage has been cut out and the hole covered by a plate. The photo is sort of fuzzy, so its hard to see if there's machine work on the undersides of the runners. There's a "doghouse" added to the back, to cover the section where the EGR connections uses to be, and he describes that modification in the text.

Why would you not want the EGR?

If I had to guess, he modified the intake so he could run the plumbing for the hidden direct port nitrous setup in the back of the manifold, and the EGR got in his way. So he removed it all. The manifold was also modified to accept a monoblade throttle body, and that would explain why they got rid of the IAC passage.

Thanks

Actually,I did the same thing to my 95 lt-1 intake, but I just cut the divider between throttle boby hole and then had to plate the bottom, because the spot between the holes is for the EGR to return into the air stream.I was just trying to make sure that if I removed the egr ports completely that it would look the same as the other 1 on the bottom. Thanks for all the help guys...
