Talking Re: LT1 32 lb/hr Upgrade Injectors

Hey Racetronix,

quick question...I bought a set of the 32# injectors and on one side they have "24" printed on them...can you confirm that the 32#'s are like that? I just want to make sure if I got the wrong ones I can take care of it because I don't exect to start my engine for another month or so.

They also have the #'s D1720BA and 1752 printed on them.

Thanks!

I have some bosch 32's and I was curious if you kept that plastic type piece on the bottom of the injector or is it meant to come off? A couple of mine cracked and broke off. They kind of look like protectors, but they are form fitted to the injector itself, kinda like a glove fit.

This is the pintle cap and it effects the spray pattern of the injector. It would be best to get them replaced. There are different types so make sure you get the right ones for your injectors.

Hi Racetronix I got an important question for you;

I built a 383ci LT4 with 210cc AFR Competition Heads.. I use your complete fuel system.. I want to ask you about injectors. People said to me that I should use 30lb injectors. But now I read this thread ,and I'm totally #### ! because I have 550hp at flywheel,so is it not enough "lb" for injectors??? Its a daily car,not a race car,nor a drag car..

You will need 42# minimum to maintain 80% injector DC on a N/A 550FWHP motor.

Minimum 42#??????? What are you talking about? There are a big size difference between 30# and 42# !! I repeat, this is a highly modified street car,not a race car. Do you approve your reply? Beacuse if you do I will change that..

thanks

The application is irrelevant (street /track). The FWHP is!.
To make 550 N/A @ 80% DC @ 43.5PSI that is what you will require.
Do the math!
The other question is what is the problem with 42's. Heck that is a small injector. TR's and imports run 60's with factory type mileage and drivability. Its all in the tune! Why do so many V8 owners subscribe to the just enough or not enough theory. This is not like picking a carb jet.

You can use this vendor's page if you wish: http://www.rceng.com/technical.htm

That was no offense man I'm very confused because lots of 383ci LT4 engine package 30lb injectors are used.. One more question, (you have a lot knowledge about this) what should be the fuel pressure for 550 bhp??

43.5PSI base unless you need more in which case you will have to recalculate your injector constant when programming your ECM/PCM.

I will almost do a big mistake..! Thank you for this very important info!! I will go with your 42lb injectors and stock fuel pressure (43.5psi)..
