LT1 Ac Delco Reman Engine
My 95 z28 has an Ac Delco Remanufactured shortblock in it. It was in the car when i got it, I was told there was about 20,000 miles on it. I've had the car for about 2 months and it has a few issues, the lifters tap when it's first started, sometimes for just a sec sometimes longer. i dunno how bad this is but I wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with an AC delco engine. Oh and the front seals leaks but that doesn't bother me much. is there anything i can do to make the tapping stop? Thanks

Not much to go on. If this was a short block, the valvetrain was not reman. I would start with checking the lifter preloads and going from there.
Regarding the front seals, which one of the 3? Pretty common for the WP seal to leak because the installer commonly puts it in wrong.

I would first try and make sure what you have in your car. Cliff Notes: My LT1 blew a head gasket, contacted GM, no LT1 reman or otherwise available. I went with a Jasper reman, was alot of $$$ but runs good. That was 1 1/2 years ago.

well when i was looking at the car the guy said it had a reman engine in it, when i got it home I found an AC Delco Remanufactured engine pamphlet... so i assume that it is an AC Delco. The oil leak isn't really my concern, i can deal with adding a little oil but the tapping when i start it kinda scares me. It doesnt do it every time. when it does do it, it may last for a sec or sometimes as long as 30 secs
