If the water pump is going south,it could be leaking onto the distributor, causing some problems.Add any coolant lately?Hope this helps.

Might try replacing the fuel filter. Its cheap and if it hasn't been done for a while it's a good time to do it. Probably something starting to go like to opti or even the fuel pump. How many miles and whats been done to it?

I had similar problems. Cleaned the maf and throttle body. Smoothed it out. At the same time I replaced the fuel filter and coil wire. hard to tell what actually solved it, but only cost $30 to fix.

I seems to me that the main factor with yours is heat. replacing the coil possibly could help. Search problems with coil.
