LT1 Hesistation, The Sage Cont'd
Took my car to the dealer to read the codes, they say its a bad EGR...boom i replace it and car runs alittle smoother but still has the same hesistation from idle to 3000 rpms when it gets to running temp (~210), and at idle it surges, you can watch the tach and oil presure move.
So far i have replaced...
Plugs
Wires
Fuel filter
EGR Valve
o2 Sensors
So im thinking its either the Coil or the Opti, anyone know if i were to take it back to the dealer if they could check to see if either of these were bad?
Any suggestions are great,
Austin

Try the Intake Air Temp sensor. This reads the temp of the incoming air and then adjusts the fuel/air mixture accordingly. and if its bad it might not be throwing any codes, just sending wrong numbers to the PCM. its only like 10 bucks. also try the coolant temp sensor as well.

I don't know if OBDI had different codes for EGR valve and solenoid. You should check and think about also replacing the EGR solenoid, as it may have stuff stuck in it from the EGR being bad.

All the above sound like good guesses. I would try the cheap Air temp and coolant temp, since they are cheap. If you do the opti, I would get it from oreillys since they have a lifetime warrenty with it. I dont know what the dealer offers. I hardly ever go their since they are expensive.

hey, i got new IAT and cleaned throttle body w/ Deep Creep and SeaFoam but i did something yesterday i had never done and it really helped.
i cleaned the 3 MAF wires with rubbing alcohol and 2 Qtips
all three wires were coated with black stuff. i think it may be K&N oil and dirt/dust. 70,000 miles and i had never done it!
you gotta have a super light touch cuz i bent one of the wires slightly, then pushed it back straight.
anyway, car had just a little stumble at low rpm...no gone!!
