LT1 hotcam or ZZ4 cam?

can i drop in a ZZ4 anyway? A buddy of mine has a ZZ4 crate motor in his 86 TA and went with the Hotcam setup. Now he loves the Hotcam and is selling the ZZ4 with only like 3 runs on the motor on the cam. He has the springs, caps and some other stuff with it like the stock stamped ZZ4 rockers he wants to get rid of. Now I have the front end apart right now. Fenders, hood, radiator, coresupport and all getting it painted and fixing some stuff like the power steering pump and when it goes back I want a cam and Roller rockers, some P&P on the heads and intake or its not going back together!

If you decide on the cloyes double roller you need to convert to the newer vented style opti. If you have the money, then yes, do an electric waterpump. ws6.com has dyno results for one, IMO it is a good value and thats why i have one.

Here is a thread for you. I am a customer of Brets so yes my opinions agree with his for the most part or I would shop somewhere else where they strictly believe 'bigger is better' applies to everything. I considered the zz4 myself. If the price is right go for it with some higher ratio rockers.

-brent

Edit* Maintaining your low end tq in a heavier vehicle like a blazer is also probably an additional thing in this cams favor.
