Re: LT1 into the 11's

hell yeah! I'd say start by putting it on a diet...you dont need alot of hp's to get a light car to go fast! then from there auto/stalled car is always a bonus. I bet you could get a cam only lt1 scrappin' 11's
maybe a little suspension work to would help

Jesus man, he said 11's not 9's!
Here's how I did it with a stock longblock with cam:
Comp XE 224/230, 1.6 roller rockers, AFR rev kit, stock lifters, electric wp, 1 3/4 LT's, stock tb with airfoil, descreened MAF, 3" pvc CAI, 15" collector tubes, Hoosier 28X10's, Edge 3800 converter, 4.56 gears, alum driveshaft.

Suspension mods were 5050 shocks in rear, stock TA, stock panhard, stock front struts with swaybar removed, LCA brackets, salad shooters all the way around, airbag in right rear, rear swaybar on.

If I had it to do all over, I would have gone to the 306 cam with that converter and gear. A 4.10 like you are going to run will not go any faster and might actually et worse with the 306. It's all about the powerband and launch. I was cutting 1.5 60's and 7.40 8th miles. I think the converter you are thinking of running (3200) may be a problem.

Raceweight of 3450 on 28x11.50-15 ET Streets

only made 4-5 NA passes
I think she had an 11.3 @ 120 in her with a 26" tire and playing with the shift points

Re: LT1 into the 11's

well the mods i have were enough to put me in the 11's. not far into them, but there is still more in it.
11.97@115.03 1.81 60ft window switch at 4000-5600
11.97@113.09 1.71 60ft window switch at 3500-5600 low bottle pressure

And get the pressure up where it needs to be.
I did the same on my 94, set at 4500 then 3500 and then 3000 it went from 11.5 to 11.17 on the last pass at 3k.

Re: LT1 into the 11's

well the reason i had it that high, is it is puddling fuel ( this is what i believe atleast ) from there not being enough air velocity at lower RPM. once i lower the fuel jet i will try going lower with window switch.
and the reason the BP was low, is they hotlapped our lanes. usually u do 1 run then all the others go. but when i pulled back through, they waved me up. so i had the bottle heater on for like 2 minutes. which didnt do much.
