Some guys on other boards suggested running seafoam through it. I put seafoam in the gas, oil, and vacuum line. Seemed to make the engine run smoother but didn't fix the knock.
Another suggestion they made was that it could be a bad bearing since donor car that had the engine was rolled. Its possible it was still running while upside down. Would that make it run rich at idle though??
The seafoam made it obvious I have an exhaust leak still. Going to fix that next and see whats going on after that.
And if i unplug the MAF and start the engine, it will run at idle but will die if i give it any throttle.

Try some top engine cleaner. This is usually put in through the fuel rail scrader connection. It really works you will be surprised at the black crappy smoke that will come out the exhaust! Take out the O2 sensors first- it ,the crap, could damage them. Put some old sensors in temporally untill you complete the cleaning. 3M had an excellent product to use. Good Luck 93ZTed

to update...had a bad map sensor and when i replaced it, it got rid of the pinging/detonation. However car is still running low blms in all cells especially cell 17 because it has 108 blms and has max knock retard while driving 20 mph with foot on gas. And picking up a lot of knock counts.

The seafoam didn't do anything. O2's are constantly changing and don't stay in a specific range so they are ok. I had an O2 a couple months ago that acted lazy. I replaced both O2's after i found that out. So far i've had a bad O2, bad MAP, bad FPR and replaced them all and still haven't fixed it. If anyone wants to look at the datamaster UNI files, pm me.

FirebatLT1 any luck on your knock problem? I'm having a very similar problem too... knock counts at WOT and part throttle.. comp is pulling my timing back 11° at WOT and the max val's for most of my part throttle when I give it a bit of gas...
While banging around on exhaust components I noticed a metal on metal sound but I was unable to pinpoint where it was coming from
If I were to guess, it sounded like the heatshield around my mainfolds (soon to be gone, got MAC's coming in soon 
) or possibly the heatshield around my transmission.
But I dont think the transmission heat shield could cause it because its attached to the body and is in no way touching the engine.

No, i dont think i've fixed it yet but i haven't had it datalogged in a while. If i'm driving it, I dont even notice it most of the time. My power steering pump has been acting up so i got to fix that next, after I finish the interior, so it will be a while before I try to attack this knock problem again.
