Thats funny right there. Either way you will have to open your wallet, I think of an LS1, maybe because I spent my $$$$$$ on an LT1. Speed really is a question of money, just spend yours as wisely as you can. I say I spent too much money but my car runs pretty good and is fun to drive.

if it were me, pull the engine that's in there. build a forged 383, get a full heads and cam setup of your choice, throw a little spray at it and you would have a pretty damn quick car. IMHO

YOURNAMEHERE , I was thinking if it would cost a ridiculous amount of money, to get my lt1 where I need to be than I'll sell the car and find a 98 up ss. so thanks for the thought Im holding that one in the back of my head.

For the money you would spend on another car, you could fully build your engine, so I'm not seeing your logic.

The whole LT1 vs. LS1 really only applies to the completely stock versions of those engines. Once you start throwing parts at them, it all goes out the window. Money = HP.

I guess my races were which driver was the better driver sine the guy i raced like 6 times that night has an 07 Mustang GT with the Roush Charger and he only runs a 12.70.
You are out of your mind. My uncle has a stock 01 Z06 with the LS6 (M6 as well) and he would spank the crap out of your car. He can spank my car with full bolt ons.

i find that hard to believe as well ive owned a full bolt on 93z a4 and can tell you that my 99 c5 m6 frc (z06 minus 50hp) could walk all over that car! bone stock on run flats i trap 107-108 mph in the quarter and ive seen bone stock c5 z06's run high 11's ....

Some comments here are just full of comedic value.

As said, the only way your bolt-on LT1 would hang or beat an '03 Z06, is if they were both pushed off of a cliff at the exact same time. You car would stand the best chance at hanging with a Z06...all the way to the bottom.

The LS1 swap is not easy or cheap. For the money and ease, building the LT1 may be your best bet.

The LT1 would definitely beat the Z06 to terminal velocity.

Nope, legally they won't pass inspection, but I know a guy that can pass me if I have problems. The PCMForLess tune is great, I just got a second one for my heads/cam and it's on the way.

My car will beat a 03 z06 with no problems from a stop. The new ls7 z06 is a monster though. I took one out of the hole but after 2nd he flew past me. It will take more than a bolton lt1 car to take any ls zo6. Cam only bolton lt1 should take a older model z06. Green96z will your cam pass ca emissions. I don't know if I am going to pass, but I have tell April so i'm not worried yet. Is the LE emissions cam larger than the lt4 hot cam?

I was told by Lloyd that it would. It is very similar to a CC503, but with a little less duration on the intake and more lift. I have yet to start it, but I'm hoping it has a nice choppy idle.

I think you will be happy with the car. I know when I went from stock h/c to what I have now it made a world of difference. It should slam you into the seat. Should have a nice idle if its on a 112lsa or lower. Hope you have some good sticky tires or all your going to do is spin off the line.

Yep, 112 LSA. I can't wait to start her up (PCM gets here Friday). Unfortunately, I'm running BFGoodrich tires (not KDWs), and I already have problems spinning all the way through 1st when I punch it. Tires and rims may very well have to be my next mod.

People also forget you can sell your complete LT1 setup to offset the cost of the LS1. The LS1 has a bigger aftermarket, more proven combos and people dont stand around and scratch their heads when you talk about 500-575 rwhp hydraulic cammed, stock computer, street motors. Not to mention there is a SHORTAGE of LT1 tuners depending on where you live, almost any big shop does LS1's.

You could sell your car and get into an LS1 car, they are cheap right now....but the swap isnt super bad if you sell your stuff to offset the cost. Plus 98-02 Camaros are one of the ugliest cars ever made.
