Mine used to miss @ 4500 rpm,until I changed the coil wire,worth a try
I think the stock rev limit is set @ 5850 rpm,but I could be wrong.

A while back I was having trouble with mine breaking up above 5000 rpm's. I cured it by replacing the Bosch Platinum plugs that were installed by the previous owner. The plugs looked fine by the way.

The other question is would you really gain anything by shifting it at the rev limitter? I shift mine at 5200-5400. Anything above that just doesnt seem to be a very usefull RPM on a pretty much stock motor.

it seems like my engine is pulling its hardest right as it starts to miss. my friend shifts all the way at 6300 on a stock motor. i do think it may be a little un necisary but it dosent feel like power is dropping off. i think i could gain a tenth or so by getting about 500 more rpms out of it.

I dont think the stock rev limiter is at 5800ish (whatever the guy above said) because mine ****s in the red (just at the edge.

The tach reads a couple of hundred rpms higher than actual engine revs .

hey you know i was wondering that for myself, as my car seems to rev too high on the highway,i was worried it was a slipping clutch but i think your right, and yea like i said the stock rev limiter is at least 63-6400

It can be a couple of things. Here what you check in order..
#1. Check fuel pressure.
#2. Check Coil. & ICM
#3. Check plugs.
#4. Replace Opti.

who cares?

unless you have some mods already, it is my understanding that you aren't really putting out more power after about 5200, so why take it much higher, just more wear and tear, especially with that many miles?

im not really sure other then that it seems like my car pulls the hardest at around the point which it breaks up at and id like to spin it a little higher in search of a little more. the motors coming out in winter anyway so extra wear isint all that much of a concern
