You might want to try a "search".... removal of the EGR, AIR, EEC, PCV systems, post-cat O2 sensors, etc. and the wisdom of doing so, gets discussed repeatedly. It is a bit of a problem to do the search, because of the fact you are looking for three-letter words, and I think the Admins recently defeated the ability to do a "wild card" search (e.g. - AIR*) to overcome the four-letter requirement.

What is your purpose for doing so? Removing emissions equipment from the car does not give any added horsepower. Some people remove it, just because they don't want to look at it or because they have done modifications that don't have provisions for it.

it does free up horsepower and give you added room in the engine bay... i tried searching but all it does is bring to the same bs over and over... lol

What HP does it free up?

AIR runs for 3 minutes at startup, NEVER at WOT. Electric driven pump, so no parasitic belt losses when not running. No HP loss.

EGR runs under part throttle/moderate load conditions, NEVER at WOT or over 3,700rpm. It actually helps reduced the possibility of detonation when lugging the engine in the wrong gear. No HP loss.

PCV simply recycles crankcase vapors, and becasue it is vacuum driven, does not flow at WOT when there is no vacuum. No HP loss.

EEC simply allows you to actually burn gasoline that would normally flow out of the tank vent, increasing fuel mileage slightly. Again, can't hurt performance because it is a gasoline/fuel mixture and represents an insignificant portion of total air/fuel flow at WOT. No HP loss.

I built an 800HP nitroused LT1, and managed to keep all the emissions equipment intact and working, with absolutely NO performance loss, except maybe 15# of extra weight.

And to add to what Injuneer said, EGR has a third benefit. At part throttle conditions EGR has produced up to 5% increase in gas milage.

Who are "these people"?

Kind of odd... you come here asking for help, then tell us we don't know what we're talking about. If you already know all the answers, why did you ask?

Then you cop an attitude against the people who took time to try and help.

Think about it. .

I got my information from a book on engines from SAE press. Discussed what Injuneer said and the potential for 5% reduction in gas consumption at part throttle. Maybe the LT1 doesn't benefit the full 5%, but it's been proven through research on other motors according to the standard urban driving cycle. I don't think anyone on here keeps track of their gas milage scientifically enough to notice that small of a gain. I ordered the stupid part from SLP and hooked mine back up since it certainly wasn't benefitting me in anyway having it off.
