LT1 spark plugs
I've read through several threads regarding LT1 spark plugs.
Several of you mention reducing the plug change as low as 1 to 4 hours.
How in the heck do you GET to the passenger side plugs? especially that quickly? LOL
I changed plugs and wires on the driver side, from underneath. But, it looks nearly impossible to get to the other 4 plugs without stripping off half the engine!
Any tips would be appreciated greatly!

I did it in about 4 hours. It's basiclly the way you position yourself on the approch. Its hard but do'able. When I did it I had acually broke one of the plugs off and couldnt get it out but a little crecent wrench got it out. Just take your time and youll be fine. Its hard cause of the space you work with but you can do it if you just try.

I just did mine again on Saturday and it took me about 1hr 45min and thats because it took me 30min on #2(couldnt get the plug to screw in). I get all 4 pass. side plugs from the top by using a spark plug socket and a 1/4 inch wrench. I get #8 by climbin up on the engine bay (knees on the radiator) and reach down by the oil dipstick, #4 and #6 are easy to do the same way. But #2 is the hardest one to do, but when using the small 1/4" wrench you can get it. Some people suggest removing the altenator to get #2. Good luck.

am about to undertake this task on my trans am as well, and have wondered the same thing. My camaro took me a few hours with headers...i'm not sure how i'm goign to get them out fromt he passenger side with stock manifolds without removing them...something i'm scared to do as i'm sure one of the rotted out bolts are goign to break...

I have deleted the air system. I pull the y-pipe, about ten minutes, and then do all but number 2 from below. About 45 minutes working carefully. Install y-pipe. Number 2 I can get from above without removing the alternator as the air injection pipes are gone. Five minutes for that one.
Less than 1.5 hours.

I do my NGK TR55s in about an hour with stock manifolds and emissions. My only real "trick" is i get to #8 from the bottom by unbolting the starter and pushing it towards the front of the car, their is all kinds of room to get to the #8 plug then, and a good angle on the #6. all others from the top.

The first time I did mine I broke the #2 plug off bu using the elbow spark plug socket. It took me forever to get done.
The second time, however, I bought a 3 inch socket wrench and had enough room to move around. On the #2 plug, I removed the altenator and put a short socket on the outside of the spark plug socket. That gave me enough room to use a bigger wrench and enough room to move it. The second time, maybe two hours max, all 8 plugs.
Hope this helps any.
