for the money and effort required it would probably be easier just to do the
LS1 swap. unless of course you have a wrecked z28 or trans am just hangin out.

ive seen a gen 1 Lt1 in a rx7 and the guy said it was simple to install you would just need pcm and wiring kit in witch painless makes a nice replacemet wiring harness and the mounts are pretty simple to fab your self but that Rx7 is early 80s model and it runs low 11s in the 1/4mile

i can see it now when i open my hood and let these 4 banger's know that i mean business. if a sr20,rb36,and a vq35 ain't enought. then you must came over to the America muscle motor. hell the much horse power i can get this lt1 going. i don't need no nos or a turbo. the body is going to be light as hell. which might hit easy 12's down the track!!!

I'm sure it could be done, as long as you got the doe. Like you said a lot people do it with ls motors. I know hinson supercars or w/e charge like 8 grand or something minus engine and tranny(referring to ls1).

Anyways, if you have a spare f-body and a s14/13 it probably wouldn't be too bad. You'll probably lose your 50/50 weight balance if you put it in an s13 though. Also, money always helps and the ability to do work yourself. As for the imports, make sure none of them are ls1 swap'es. They are being put in supras, 240's, rx-7s, and everything now-a-days. Might suprise ya.

Yea, a friend of mine put a carb'd vortec 350 w/turbo 350 in a 2nd gen rx-7. We ran it against my z28(mostly stock) with his being all stock too from a slow roll 2 times and he pulled me both times. I think a big part of it was the stock 4.10 in the 7 vs. my stock 3.23's. It was funny though, because they just fabbed up some exhaust and there was like 1 - 1 1/2in. of ground clearance and when it would shift the exhaust would smack the ground and spark lol

I think you meant the rb26. Ironic you keep talking about 4 bangers then 2 out of the three engines you bring up are 6's. Also, the italized sentence doesn't make sense to me.

Either way, good luck with the swap if you decide to do it.

for any project, put aside a budget, then double that-THAT is what it will cost you

now the reason why you see so many ls1 and not lt1 is because the ls1 is a better motor. no opti to worry about, aluminum block(lighter) and more power of the bat
