Question Lt1 TB bypass and coolant line problem INfo needed

I recently bought a throttle body bypass kit and discovered that on the LT1 there is a hose on the left of the radiator that can be shortened and connected directly to the other line around the TB, My question is....

WHEre does that coolant line go that runs down to the back of the cylinder head??????

I see it connects to a small retaining bolt thingy on the back of the head but after it go's there... what is it's purpose?? Is it deletable??? I want ot get rid of as much crap in the engine bay as possible without losing any power accessories etc etc. Things like brackets and ****ty coolant lines for dumb things. let me know guys! Thnaks peace

That pipe connects to both of the heads in the back and it's purpose is to eliminate any steam pockets that might form in the head coolant passages. You want to leave that in there.

I did the TB bypass yesterday and on the way to and from work today (10 minute commute) I was getting some minor steam on stops at lights coming from the pass side. When I got home I checked it out and there was some Antifreeze squirting on to the exhaust pipe on the pass side. I let it cool off then I went back out to find the problem.

I let it run for a good half hour and drove it around and the problem dissapeared. I hope it doens't come back like a phantom tomorrow.

Has anyone heard of this problem? I thought it might have been some antifreeze that had spilled when I did the job( I took the cap off to relieve pressure and it bubbled out....

Yes you can do that on a 95.. no 'kit' [hose barb]is needed [only needed for a 93-4]

OK found the problem last night with a flashlight. I simply didn't tighten the hose clamp enough. I didn't want ot overtighten but this time i clamped it downnnn. No more leak

Did you remove that hose barb that you don't need?
2 less joints that can leak later..

yea I did it right. I took off the hose coming from the radiator and shortened it a little on both ends because the ends were looking mangled, I then cleaned and treated the rubber and flushed it out. then I used new hose clamps and tightned it downa nd made sure the heat protecting mesh was the right length. Now it is looking good.
